We joined the Portland Food Co-op!
We attended an orientation & were shown how it works & how orders are placed. Everyone was so friendly & welcoming. When it came time to place an order, we just looked over what other folks were ordering & added on. Our first pick up date is early next week. I’ll let you know how it goes.

How does the Co-op work? Basically the co-op takes out the middle man & lets you order groceries directly from the suppliers so that we all save money. You buy into the co-op & become a shareholder for $100. Once you become a member you can then place orders online from the different suppliers at your convenience. As a member of the co-op you volunteer 2-3 hours of time a month to helping this organization run smoothly. I am going to be involved in community outreach & my first gig will be manning a booth at the Common Ground Fair on Saturday the 25th. YEAH!
